Why the Group owns its logistics
In most of the markets the Group operates in, third-party logistics is either expensive, unreliable or both. Owning the fleet and the warehouses costs more capital up front and removes a recurring operational risk in return.
It also makes the rest of the portfolio work. Manufacturing in Angola is only valuable if the output reaches the Group's retail shelves and wholesale customers on schedule. Trading only holds its margin if goods clear and move without repeated delay. The infrastructure is what connects the business lines to each other.

Company-owned transport
Transport vehicles and equipment are owned by the Group rather than contracted in, which keeps delivery schedules under the Group's own control.
Company-owned warehousing
Warehouses and storage facilities across the network are owned by the Group, giving it the capacity to hold stock ahead of demand in markets with long import lead times.
Company-owned land and sites
Operational sites and land are held by the Group, supporting manufacturing, storage and distribution without dependence on third-party premises.
Centralised coordination
Logistics and supply chain planning are coordinated centrally, so stock and transport can be moved between markets as demand shifts.
No third-party outsourcing
Core logistics is managed without third-party outsourcing, which removes a layer of cost and a layer of risk from the Group's ability to deliver.
Local presence
Local offices and distribution centres sit in the cities where the Group trades, rather than being managed remotely from a regional head office.
